Development & Production Intern, Gemstone Studios SPT - Fall 2022

The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities. This Fall Internship is from September through December and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours a week, Monday through Friday (flexible depending on school schedule).

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

With an eye toward creating unique, high-quality content, Gemstone Studios efficiently produces content for external platforms. We are focused on producing distinct television programming in the indie feature film style and paradigm. Establishing this label presents a tremendous opportunity to continue serving our customers as well as our own networks with programming that audiences love and that makes financial sense in today's new entertainment landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interns will work with the label in supporting program development, current programming, and overall brand strategy. They will liaise and coordinate with other SPT departments including marketing and public relations. Interns will also be expected to assist with the development, production, and program research and provide comprehensive yet concise feedback. They will deliver a high level of professionalism as well as display the willingness to learn by doing as well as observing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergrad student
• Read and demonstrate script coverage
• Demonstrate familiarity with TV programming and/or production
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
• Must have knowledge of basic office software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Must be internet savvy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Entertainment majors are a plus
