Motion Designer Intern

San Diego, CA

The Motion Designer Intern will get the opportunity to work as part of PlayStation Studios Creative Arts, an internal creative team at one of the world's leading entertainment companies. You'll get the experience of crafting unique story-driven concepts for use across a variety of media, from broadcast and digital, to retail and live events. Our team is small but driven, putting an emphasis on fostering great talent and producing quality stories that deliver impactful and awe-inspiring creativity to our clients.

Responsibilities:
• Understanding and appreciation of storytelling structure and mechanics, and how motion graphics integrate into that structure
• Create dynamic motion graphics packages and elements across a wide array of styles
• Adapt design style and sensibility to the specific job and characteristics of a particular game or project
• Be a proactive contributor to the creative process from the beginning of a project through delivery
• Channel and focus creativity and execute on projects under challenging time constraints and deadlines
• Understand and execute on client feedback and/or team notes to achieve desired end product
• Work as part of a small team on both short term and long-term projects

Qualifications:
• Current or post-graduate (up to 1 year) student
• Proven experience with After Effects and 3D software (Maya, C4D).
• Proven experience base in Photoshop and Illustrator
• Self-motivated with an ability to take initiative
• Highly motivated with outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with others at all levels and functions
• A demonstrated sense of visual rhythm and sense of composition and style
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired qualifications:
• Understanding or interest in the video game industry
• Familiarity or experience with tools like Nuke, Realflow, Mocha
