Summer Intern - Software Engineer, Applications

Job Description

As an Applications Software Engineer Intern, you'll work directly on the team to enhance our software by adding new features and improving performance on the proprietary tools that make our animated feature films.

Areas of focus may be in one or more of the following areas:
• Sets & Layout
• Characters & Crowds
• Simulation
• Animation
• Shading
• Effects
• Lighting, Rendering & Compositing

Qualifications:
• Experience in C++ engineering
• Attention to detail and code quality
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, 3D graphics interaction techniques, and 3D applications (Katana, Maya, Houdini, Renderman, etc.)
• Experience with rendering processes a plus

Eligibility:
• You are at least a junior in college working towards a BS, MS or PhD; if you have already graduated but are within the first year since your graduation at the start of the internship, you are also eligible to apply
• Submit a short personal statement (200 words or less) explaining your interest in look development software at Pixar.
• You are available to work full-time for 12 consecutive weeks between May – Sept
• Please Note: this opportunity may be a remote internship rather than onsite at Pixar. A determination will be made Spring 2022.
