Content Engineering builds the products and services used by our creative teams producing and managing our global content. Our products enable the entire workflow of content production, from script to screen, and provide innovative new ways to develop and manage entertainment at scale.

You'll have a direct impact on how the Netflix studio creates and produces shows like ''The Witcher'', ''The Crown'', ''The Queen's Gambit'', and many more on a global scale. With an increasing slate of original content being produced every year, our products manage billions of dollars worth of content-spend.

We are looking for backend software engineer interns to help our teams build large-scale backend applications that power the entire Netflix experience, on and off service. Who are you?
• Currently a rising Senior, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, and you should still be enrolled after the internship ends
• Curious and motivated learner
• Clear communicator - you are concise and articulate in speech and writing
• Coursework or some experience with data structures and algorithms and bonus if you've taken a course on distributed systems
• Practical knowledge of Java or any other object-oriented programming language
• Familiarity in utilizing modern version control systems such as Git

What will you learn?
• Build large-scale applications that solve complex business problems elegantly.
• Distributed system design and architecture process
• Writing high quality, performant, and industry-standard code
• Some of the best technologies used in building cloud software - gRPC, ProtoBufs, GraphQL, Spring Boot, and many more
• Working closely with other engineers, and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment

The Summer Internship

At Netflix, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here. We match qualified interns with projects and groups based on interests and skill sets, and fully embed interns within those groups for the summer. Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks, with a choice of a few fixed start dates in May or June to accommodate varying school calendars. Conditions permitting, our 2022 summer internships will be located either remotely, in our Los Gatos, CA office, or in our Los Angeles, CA office, depending on the team.
