Job Description

Responsibilities
Opportunities may include (but are not limited to):

TODAY Show
Job duties include research, finding people to interview for stories, transcribing interviews, gathering and logging video, pitching stories, and assisting producers and researchers as they prepare stories for air.

Dateline
Assist with all elements of reporting and news gathering, including research, logging, and fact checking. Assist with pulling documents from court, attending court hearings and taking notes, helping on shoots, and pitching stories.

Nightly News
Assist producers in logging interviews and pictures, fact checking, hunting down characters and experts, trolling for and clearing social media for photos and video for broadcast use, as well as sourcing and clearing mainstream photos and videos. Possibly assist on shooting interviews, standups, and live shots.

Social Media
Post to NBC News and MSNBC social accounts, write and headline social posts, create content that can live on social, edit photo and video content, and track social trends.

Los Angeles Network News Bureau
Make calls on breaking news stories, monitor social media, fact check, research experts and possible characters for news stories, and assist in logistics while dispatching news coverage teams on assignments. May also pitch stories, troll newspapers for story ideas, and assist producers with ongoing projects for various NBC News platforms – Nightly News, Today, MSNBC, NBC News Now, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.

Additional Job Requirements
• If selected for an in-person internship, must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

• Ability to multitask and highly organized
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Previous internship experience and on-campus involvement
• Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs
