Job Description

The Job
The HLN Specials unit will produce over 16 long form crime driven documentary style one hour shows. The first eight revolve around shocking lies, deceit and bad behavior-all caught on camera. This series focuses on video evidence in criminal investigations. The second 8 shows are unsolved missing cases and unexplained deaths that continue to baffle investigators. This series unravels the newest evidence and compels viewers to hunt for answers with a call to action.

The Daily
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assisting and participating in producing the long-form documentaries
• Conducting research, making short lists, and opportunity to go out in the field for interviews
• Dubbing, transcribing, logging, researching, searching for video and sound
• Preparing reports and booking guests
• Assisting with production, pitching stories, and administrative tasks

The Essentials
Candidates should:
• Be passionate about long-form storytelling, self-motivated
• Have great communication and research skills
• Be able to multitask and function well in fast paced, high volume environment

Internship Program
• Students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for the full duration of the internship
• Summer 2022 program dates are June 6th - August 12th (optional time frames are available for students in a university quarter system); must be available for full program duration
• Full-time schedule (40 hours/week) required
• Company-issued computer provided for the duration of the internship program.
