Interns are immersed into TV and Feature animated productions while gaining hands-on experience at our studio. Fall 2022 Surfacing Internship:
• Applications close: July 7, 2022 at 11:59pm PT
• Program Dates: September 26, 2022 - December 2, 2022
• Time Commitment : Part Time (16-24 hours per week) OR Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Format: Virtual OR In-person

Responsibilities: ''What would you say you do here?''
For feature animated films Surfacing artists establish the look and qualities of characters, props and environments for an animated film with direction from the Production Designer, Art Director, and Surfacing Supervisor. They troubleshoot technical issues as they arise and partner with adjacent departments such as Modeling, Lighting and Character FX to deliver assets for the film.
• The goal of the internship is to experience the surfacing workflow and related departments over the span of 10 weeks and work on an animated feature film.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Experience with 3D paint packages (e.g. Mari, Substance, ZBrush)
• Good eye for detail
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or being a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
• If selected for an in-person internship, must be willing to work in Glendale, California.
• If selected for a virtual internship, must be working from a location within the United States during all hours worked.
• If selected for a virtual internship, must have own equipment (computer, headphones, etc.) and stable internet connection
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Proactive and creative problem solver.
• Experience within other related skills (i.e. modeling, compositing, animation, etc.)
