Job Description:

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking a Senior Participations Analyst to prepare participations statements and co-distribution true up accountings. The ideal candidate will handle manual reporting, as well as statements paying higher amounts and involving more complex calculations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting
    • Preparing draft participation statements for third party participants
    • Preparing distribution true up statements to co-distributors
    • Evaluating/analyzing co-distributor statements
    • Creating receipts and/or expense adjustments, interest schedules and other manual calculations required for accurate reporting
    • Reconciling reported activity to source systems and researching discrepancies
    • Validating reported activity against source documents (e.g., invoices, etc.) and researching discrepancies
    • Validating the accuracy of statement mailing packages, tax withholding calculations and payment requisitions
    • Validating the accuracy of accountings against contract terms
  • Month End Close
    • Supporting month-end diligence of data mapped into the participations system
  • Other
    • Providing analytical and other support for titles subject to audit

 

Job Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. with a major or minor in accounting, business or finance preferred
  • Two years prior employment experience in accounting, finance or participation department preferred
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Excel
  • Strong analytical, communications, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Initiative, ability to multi-task and commitment to project follow through
