Job Description:

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., ("MGM") is seeking a Director of Event Planning to join the Television Marketing team. The Director will be responsible for strategizing, executing, and managing industry-related events including MIPTV, MIPCOM, NATPE, LA Screenings, NATPE Budapest, ATF, Client Screenings, Sales Meetings, and special events.
 
The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented, financially responsible, and self-motivated event professional with a minimum of 4-6 years of event planning experience. The right candidate should possess excellent communication and management skills, the ability to adaptively manage multiple internal and external requests, work well in a team environment, bring a ‘can do’ attitude to all projects, and solve an array of time-sensitive and unique challenges.  Previous experience working in events in the television or film industry is a plus.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Creative, logistical, and budgeting responsibilities for events
• Develop vendor and location relationships
• Vendor management including booth, catering, A/V, floral, graphics and promotional items
• Executive level communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Daily prioritization of numerous requests and projects
• Invoice processing and vendor payment
• Domestic and international travel is required

• Ability to build cross-divisional and inter-company relationships
• Superb written and verbal communication skills
• Work well in a dynamic, changing, and team-oriented environment
• Ability to build project timelines and drive key dates
• Highly organized, thorough, and detailed oriented
• Strong financial acumen for budgeting , cost tracking, and reporting
• Resourceful in finding solutions to problems
• Ability to constantly multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Previous experience with MIPTV, MIPCOM, and LA SCREENINGS a plus
• A deep list of vendor, location, and event planning a plus
• Strong excel and presentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree is required
